An Increase blog post by Ann Borquist...

What is 'Diaspora TEE' and why is it important to the growth of the worldwide body of
Christ? Diaspora refers to 'people who move to another country in search of work,
education, or refuge'. According to the United Nations, there are 272 million people living
outside of their country of birth. Some are refugees, others have chosen to migrate to
another country. See this web page to learn more about Diaspora TEE.
A significant number of refugees and immigrants come from contexts in which Christian
activity is severely limited or prohibited. Churches in receiving nations who welcome and
disciple diaspora people are able to share the Good News of Jesus with those who might not
otherwise hear the Gospel. Quite often God uses diaspora Christians to revitalise and equip
the church to bless the community in their new home.

The Diaspora Task Group is composed primarily of immigrants from various parts of
the world, and their video presents some major developments in diaspora TEE discipleship ministries
You can download the booklet 'Discipling the Nations in the Diaspora', a practical step-by-step guide to help you develop and grow a diaspora TEE group in your church. The Increase
commitment to diaspora ministry is available here.
In another video, Tanka and John discuss how the Increase member organisation ITEEN in Nepal supports Nepali diaspora communities in Malaysia, and the impact that these new Christians have when they return to Nepal.
God is working through diaspora communities to build up the body of Christ!
