Learn. Write. Impact.
Disappointed that you didn’t participate in the Increase course writer training workshops with other TEE programmes around Asia?
No?
You didn’t even know that you missed out?
Well, no matter.
You can now access the training online to write your own 21st-century transformative courses.
New TEE courses
The course writer training is the result of a collaborative effort of an international team of coaches, programme directors and on-the-ground course writers that started with the Increase conference in Malaysia in 2015.
In response to the need for contextually relevant TEE courses, several TEE programme directors already found competent staff and volunteers to take on the task of writing new courses for their contexts. Several courses were written, including:
· Responding to Persecution (Pakistan, Bangladesh)
· Ministry to Teens (Mongolia)
· Spirit World (Cambodia)
· Marriage and Family (Bangladesh)
· Parenting (Russia)
· and others still in progress
From face-to-face to online
The first two cohorts relied on face-to-face workshops to move through the writing process, it was costly and probably slowed the writing for some teams. And when the pandemic hit, writers needed to continue without these workshops. That’s why the content was packaged so writers and coaches could refer to it as they kept writing. When this was done it was our desire to make the whole training widely available: the online modules were born.
Write transformative courses
This online course writer training provides the content needed to understand the educational principles and the step-by-step process.
The framework that is used, called Situation Response Development*, guides you through the process so the steps are clearly stated. This step-by-step approach makes the training accessible while encouraging writers and coaches to use transformative learning principles.
The underlying principles
The following Guiding Statement is used as a reference for writing teams in their research and development of a response to the local situation:
To learn more about the Situation Response Development (SRD) framework and the process to develop a response, you can view this nine-minute video or read this blog post from With Community (8 minutes).
The power of working together
The course writer training is not meant for solo writers but rather for teams. It is a collaborative effort and included in the team is a coach who will work with the team through the whole process. If you are an Increase Association member, Increase will do its best to provide a writing coach. If you are not an Increase Association member, we can try to help you think through how to find a competent coach within your own network.
